The day Preston Drake figured out that wealthy women paid well for a set of tight abs and a pretty face his life turned around.
The run down rat-infested trailer he had shared with his alcoholic mother and three younger siblings was now only a place he visited to pay the bills and stock the pantry with food.
He no longer worried about his family starving or living without electricity. The money he made entertaining rich older women more than covered his family’s needs and his own. He had it all figured out. Except…
There was this girl.
She was as innocent as he was tainted.
Amanda Hardy wished her knees didn’t get weak when Preston walked into a room. She hated the fact her heart raced when he flashed his smile in her direction. He had a different girl in his bed every night. He was the kind of boy a smart girl ran from. So, why was she coming up with ways to get close to him? Even when it was obvious he wanted to keep her at a distance.
Maybe her heart knew something the world didn’t. Maybe Preston Drake was more than just a pretty face.
Abbi Glines can be found hanging out with rockstars, taking out her yacht on weekends for a party cruise, sky diving, or surfing in Maui. Okay maybe she needs to keep her imagination focused on her writing only. In the real world, Abbi can be found hauling kids (several who seem to show up that don’t belong to her) to all their social events, hiding under the covers with her MacBook in hopes her husband won’t catch her watching Buffy on Netflix again, and sneaking off to Barnes and Noble to spend hours lost in the yummy goodness of books. If you want to find her then check Twitter first because she has a severe addiction to tweeting @abbiglines. Facebook is also somewhere she visits a little too often. She blogs regularly but rarely about anything life changing. She also really enjoys talking about herself in third person.

This is the 3rd book in the series and this one is Cage’s story who we met in Because of Low. I would personally recommend reading this series in order to get the full awareness of the relationships of the characters however it is not necessary.
I have to say that While it Lasts is my favorite book so far in the Sea Breeze series! My heart belonged to Marcus but wow Cage is something else! I started having a bit of a crush on him in the previous book, the ultimate bad boy. But now, I have to say I am completely in love with this guy!! I remember writing in my review of Because of Low that I was desperate for Cage to have his own story told and I WAS NOT disappointed!
First of all Abbi had me crying like a baby in the prologue. What a way to start a book, leaving the reader all emotional and then in comes the lush Cage and takes over with his arrogant charm and yumminess!!!
Cage was such a player so much so I actually didn’t want to like him but secretly did. Starting this book I was so surprised when rather than wanting to see him redeem himself, he proved that he was not his reputation, he was so much more. His actions being totally understandable in the grand scheme of his life. Cage is such an alpha male yet he has this vulnerable side and his actions and what he says just completely melts you into a puddle on the floor. I could hear his accent in my head when he spoke, and yes I have a real thing for that Southern drawl!!! He is as honest as they come, REAL and he knows who he is and doesn’t apologize for it. Cage is pretty special!!
Eva is adorable and she made such an impression on me. She was feisty, kind , confident and very lovable. She was pretty faultless though slightly naïve at times which are to be expected when someone has suffered from the loss of a loved one at such a young age! My heart really did break for her at the beginning of the story. She has this huge wall around her heart due to the traumatic loss she suffered, not letting anyone in and guarding her heart which she gave away and she is yet to acknowledge is hers still.
I loved the connection between Eva and Cage. It was so strong, passionate and intense. Due to Eva’s circumstances it never came to a head from either of them immediately, which I thought was great. It meant that the relationship that was built did so at a pace that was real and believable and was cemented on a common ground where all the cards have been laid on the table. The fact that Cage let Eva in and trusting her with his true self was pretty special because it had a domino effect on Eva letting go of her past, realising her heart was still hers to give and she could be happy again.
So yeah to say I loved this book is an understatement! I also think there is plenty more story in Cage & Eva…
