About Us

JENNY

I’ve always loved reading, but it wasn’t until a long weekend in June 2011 when, on a book researching blitz,  I discovered three books that would turn reading into an addiction as well as a love.

The books were Thoughtless  and Effortless  by S C Stephens  (Kellan Kyle – swoon)  and Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. I became so consumed by these books and the characters that I spent the whole weekend immersed in these stories and could not put them down.

The authors had written stories that spoke to me and touched me in a way nothing before them had. The experience I felt reading these books was something I knew I wanted to feel time and time again.

Since then I’ve  been fortunate to have read some amazing books, expanded my reading genres, forged some great friendships and every day I thank the wonderful authors for bringing their books into my life.

I never go anywhere without my Kindle and reading to me is not a hobby, it’s an important part of who I am and if you want to see a huge smile on my face, just ask me to discuss or recommend one of my favourite books! The smile will literally blind you  🙂

Love Jenny x

GITTE

I have loved reading since I was 5 years old.

I’ve always had a book in my hand no matter where I was. That is until last year when I got a kindle for my birthday. I can safely say it was the BEST present EVER!! I have since discovered some of the most amazing authors I would never have known about if it wasn’t for my Lawson (who yes is my kindle). I named him after a character by one of my favorite authors Kristen Ashley.

Depending on how busy my life gets I can read anything between 3 – 4 books a week. I don’t discriminate, I will literally read anything and everything as long as it has romance, angst or humor in it.  I consider anything 3 + stars as a good book and a lot of the time 5 stars just isn’t enough.

I never compare books to others when rating them. I don’t review the books in the true definition of the word I mostly write about how I felt during and after finishing it. Authors are my Rock Stars…books are my life!!

Love Gitte x

  7. Hello, ladies! I tried to find your goodreads accounts so that I can follow your reviews, however the link is to the main goodreads page, not your individual profiles. HELP! I’m a newly published writer and I am interested in following you. Would you mind emailing me the links at the email address below? Thank you! Best, Kahlen Aymes.

Love your blog! I wanted to read a few of the books you guys have recommended such as “captive in the dark” and “star crossed” but I am having trouble finding them in the nook store, is this a common problem? If so will they eventually be released through the nook?

    • Hi Amanda. I will check with CJ and Kele Moon about Nook. I know Star Crossed is available at Loose ID – do they do Nook books through there? We will find out and let you know. We’ve heard this problem a lot with Nook owners. It must be frustrating 😦

🙂 Thanks Jen! I have definatly looked over your must read list, and have followed alot of your direction.. I just finshed the Tammara Webber 3 books and now reading Easy and then going to read Slammed and Point of Retreat and follow that with something wonderful you recommed. Btw thanks for the info on good reads through Facebook, I have signed up and love that site, and have started a challange to read 100 books by the end of the year… (very ambitious) with a FT job and all but the more rewievs I get from you two the more it makes me wanna read. Thanks for being so wonderful and definatly will keep in touch and I will keep you informed of my reading progress.. Téa 🙂 xox

    • That’s fantastic Tea. So glad we could help. I know when I started out researching I didn’t know where to start and GR came up with some great recommendations and the more friends you have on there the more recs that come up so it’s really good.
100 books is a great target. Good luck with that. I was going really well but just haven’t had much reading time lately but will get onto that! It is hard when you have a full time job trying to fit in the the time though. I have the same problem.
Thank you so much for visiting and can’t wait to hear about your reading progress. Jen xx 🙂

  11. HAHAHA! I named my kindle too – Leon. OMG I AM NOT THE ONLY WEIRD ONE!!! —-uh no offense I’m so excited its not just me.

  12. Stacy

Jenny, I can relate to your story of rekindling a love for reading and Thoughtless and Effortless were two of the books that help get me back to reading! I have already benefitted from your wonderful book suggestions with Disastrous and look forward to many, many more. Thanks for making find a great book to read that much easier!

  13. Teapot

I have stumbled across your website and Facebook page by someone who mentioned it on an Amazon discussion and boy I’m glad I did! My TBR list has doubled since looking at your recommendations list. There’s nothing like being recommended something when you know the person who mentioned it loved it…coz you KNOW you are gonna love it too! I have read reviews on amazon and kind of relied on them when someone says its a good book then been disappointed because that person obviously has different taste to when I have hated it…but I have already read several on your list and wholeheartedly agree with your 5star recommendations, so that means I know for sure the other books are worth spending my time and money on! Please keep updating your list…..I’m kind of relying on it!! Thank you so much for doing what you do……please don’t ever stop….. Xxx

  14. I am in love with this site!!!! S.C Stephens is the REASON why I have read so many other books!!!!! Effortless and Thoughless were the most amazing books I have ever read.

  15. Stephenie

I had the same exact experience with those 3 books. I hadn’t read in a while, and they hooked me back in to reading. I love similar stories. So glad I found your blog!
