Welcome guys and girls to the Back to School Blog Hop, featuring Jenn Cooksey’s amazing book, Shark Bait!
As we are huge fans of the ‘whiteboard’ (see CHAT NOW) from Shark Bait, we pleaded with Jenn to borrow it from Tristan today and YAY she said yes, but only after Gitte plied her with chocolate covered bacon whilst serenading her over the phone with Duran Duran! Yeah true story…
For those of you who have read Shark Bait you will know what we mean. For those of you who haven’t, firstly you must go rectify that, secondly here’s what it is all about.
You can ask Jenn about her series or ask any of the guys and girls from Shark Bait questions. Yep Tristan will be checking in…BUT keep it clean please J ! You can connect through Twitter or FB.
Only thing to bear in mind is that little annoying thing called Timezones…yeah how much do we all hate them! So please be patient…Tristan might be sleeping…pauses to think about this for just a second….or two….
Oh and have a look at the FAB swag bag……make sure you enter!!
This is Jenn Cooksey’s first published book and I have to say that I thought Shark Bait was very well written and I LOVE J. Cooksey’s style of writing, it’s quick witted, sarcastic, REAL and bang up to date!! “Tristan’s Wall of Infamy conversations” had me in stitches!! HILARIOUS!!!
Camie and her family move back home after her Mum gets diagnosed with breast cancer. After being home-schooled by her Mum she now has to enter and survive the gauntlets of proper high-school.
It took me a good few chapters to warm up to Camie. Yes I liked her quick wit but it wasn’t until she showed the REAL Camie that I got her. I actually think this applies to most of the characters, however, I defy anyone not to swoon over Tristan from the get go though!
I LOVED the second half of the book, I thought it was fab so I was quite sad when it ended! I have to say that I want more of Camie’s sister and Tristan’s Mum & Dad…comic geniuses!!
Shark Bait is definitely aimed at the younger YA readers due to the issues and concerns, and for that I think it’s spot on!! However, even oldies like me will definitely enjoy this series, I am so sure.
I cannot wait for the next installment!
