Jessica Scott drops by

Today on we have a guest post by Author, Jessica Scott.  Jess has written two contemporary romance novels: Because of You and Until There Was You. We have reviewed both and they are brilliant! Definite emotional reads not only because of the amazing characters but how they also portray the effects of war.

Jessica Scott is a career army officer, mother of two daughters, three cats, three dogs and two escape-artists hamsters, wife to a career NCO and wrangler of all things stuffed and fluffy. She has commanded two companies, served in Germany, Korea, Fort Hood and Iraq, and been lucky not to get fired. She is a terrible cook and an even worse housekeeper, but she’s a pretty good shot with her assigned weapon. Somehow, her children are pretty well adjusted and her husband still loves her, despite burned water and a messy house.

You can find her online at

Jessica’s current book Because of You is available now and her upcoming book, Until There Was You, is available October 8, 2012 and available for pre-order

Please welcome the fabulous Jessica Scott:

I’m thrilled to be here on totally booked! When I was first asked to do a guest post, I tried to think of something unique to write about because I feel like if a blogger is going to the trouble of hosting me, the least I can do it try to be unique.

So today, I think I want to talk about why your books are your favorite books? What book will you pick up and read over and over and over? If you’ve been folllowing me anywhere in cyberspace, you know I’m a huge fan of Nalini Singh’s guild hunter series but her book Archangel’s Blade really did it for me.

I loved the real damage her hero and heroine had to overcome and the happily ever after when it came just blew me away. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read that book.

What book really does it for you? I mean completely blows you away and ruins you for all other books?

Because I’m celebrating the upcoming relapse of my next book UNTIL THERE WAS YOU, I’ve included an expert below that teases with a hint of Evan’s damage.

He bowed his head, looking away from the tree. Avoiding her gaze until she stepped in front of him, cupping his face gently in her palms, his skin frigid cold beneath her touch. Waiting until he met her gaze. “Evan,” she whispered, knowing her words were useless.

There was nothing she could say that would erase the thirteen years of guilt he’d carried with him. She traced her fingers across his forehead, brushing a strand of hair from his eyes.

It terrified her, seeing this side of a man she thought of as a rock. Steadfast. Reliable.

But tonight he was shaken, his grief so real and raw, he might have been standing at the scene of the accident after it just happened instead of in a field of snow-covered memories.

“Look at me,” she said. He turned to her with dark eyes filled with sadness. She brushed her lips against his. “Evan. You can’t keep punishing yourself.”

His breath froze against her skin. Slowly, so slowly, the memories retreated.

“Evan,” she repeated, her breath mingling with his. She brushed her lips against his again, hoping to chase away the demons that danced at the edge of his soul.

From the back cover:

Jessica Scott returns with an all-new contemporary eBook original romance, following last fall’s release of her sizzling debut novel Because of You.

He plays by the rules, she’s not afraid to break them. Now these two strong-willed army captains will prove that opposites attract . . .

A by-the-book captain with a West Point background, Captain Evan Loehr refuses to mix business with pleasure—except for an unguarded instance years ago when he succumbed to the deep sensuality of redheaded beauty Claire Montoya. From that moment on, though, Evan has been at odds with her, through two deployments to Iraq and back again. But when he is asked to train a team prepping for combat alongside Claire, battle-worn Evan is in for the fight of his life.

Strong, gutsy, and loyal, Captain Claire Montoya has worked hard to earn the rank on her chest. In Evan, Claire sees a rigid officer who puts the rules before everything else—including his people. When the mission forces them together, Claire soon discovers that there is more to Evan than meets the eye.

He’s more than the rank on his chest; he’s a man with dark secrets and deep longings. For all their differences, Evan and Claire share two crucial passions: their country and each other.

I have learned result-oriented items by way of your internet site. 1 other thing I want to say is newer laptop operating systems are inclined to allow far much more memory to get used, but they likewise demand much more storage just to operate. If your computer could not handle a great deal much more memory as well as the newest application requires that ram increase, it typically could be the time to buy a new Laptop or computer. Thanks
