This is easily THE funniest book I have ever read. Honestly, it had me laughing from the first to the last page and didn’t let up in between!
This book is GOLD and I loved every minute!
I started reading this at the airport while waiting for my husband’s flight to arrive. It was delayed 2 hours and honestly, I hardly even noticed. I was too busy laughing, snorting and nearly causing a scene. I definitely copped a few odd glances and had a smile on my face the whole time!.
Yes, this book is THAT funny! It really is laugh out loud funny.
I started to highlight all the witty one liners etc but then realised I would have only ended up highlighting the whole book so gave up and just enjoyed ride! Let me tell you, this book will put you on a high!!
What’s the book about?
Claire is a twenty-something, single mom that grudgingly helps her best friend sell sex toys while she attempts to make enough money to start her own business to give her foul-mouthed, but extremely loveable (when he’s asleep) toddler a better life.
When Carter, the one-night-stand from her past that changed her life forever, shows up in her hometown bar without any recollection of her besides her unique chocolate scent, Claire will make it a point that he remembers her this time.
With Carter’s undisguised shock at suddenly finding out he has a four-year-old son and Claire’s panic that her stretch marks and slim to none bedroom experience will send the man of her dreams heading for the hills, the pair will do whatever they can to get their happily ever after.
Every character in this book is warm and funny and will totally and utterly captivate you. 4 year old Gavin is just priceless! He is a miniature version of Claire! You won’t believe the things that come out that child’s mouth!
The story is told from Claire and Carters alternating POV’s and this works so well. If you think Claire is funny and says the most outlandish things, then wait until you hear the story from Carter’s head! I’m not normally a fan of too much internal monologue but it worked so well here. I loved being in both their heads.
At the end of the book I felt like I wanted to take each and every character to a bar, line up some shots and just have a great night out with them. They are so relatable and feel like people you’d really want to spend time with.
The author has managed to bring us a book that is not only chock full of humour, but it is also a sexy, sweet romantic book that will have you addicted from start to finish. This is such a feel good book, you won’t want it to end.
You really will want to go “tiptoeing through the twolips” with Carter haha
The next book Futures and Frosting will be released in October and I’m already crossing off the days.
